Patio Installation in Columbus, Ohio

Pavers, concrete, natural stone. We build patios on a real base so they don't sink, shift, or crack after a couple Ohio winters.

A Patio Built Right Starts Underground

The part of a patio you see, the pavers, the stone, the concrete surface, that's the easy part. What makes or breaks a patio in Columbus is what's underneath. The base, the compaction, the drainage. Get that wrong and you'll have uneven pavers and puddles within a year.

We excavate to the proper depth, lay and compact crushed limestone in lifts, add a bedding layer, and then set the surface material. Every step matters, and we don't skip any of them. That's why our patios still look flat and drain properly years after we build them.

If you just want a slab poured as cheap as possible, we're probably not the right fit. But if you want a patio you'll actually enjoy using for the next 15-20 years, give us a call.

Patio Types We Install

Paver Patios

Concrete pavers are our most popular choice for Columbus patios. They come in dozens of colors, patterns, and textures. They handle freeze-thaw better than poured concrete because the joints allow for slight movement. And if one paver cracks or stains, you swap it out, no tearing up the whole thing.

We install pavers on a proper aggregate base with polymeric sand joints to keep everything locked in place and weed-free.

Concrete Patios

Poured concrete is a solid option if you want a clean, simple look at a lower price point. We offer broom finish, exposed aggregate, and stamped patterns. Concrete needs control joints cut in to manage cracking, and we make sure the ground is prepped and graded correctly so water runs away from your house.

Natural Stone Patios

Flagstone, bluestone, and limestone patios give you a look you can't get with manufactured pavers. Each piece is unique. We dry-lay or mortar-set natural stone depending on the application. It costs more, but if you want your patio to stand out, this is how you do it.

Combination Designs

A lot of our projects combine materials, paver patio with a natural stone border, concrete pad with a paver extension, or a stone patio with a built-in fire pit. We'll help you figure out what works for your space and your budget.

The Process

How We Install Your Patio

1. Free Estimate

We come out, measure the space, talk about what you want, and give you a price. No strings, no pressure. If you decide to move forward, we schedule the work.

2. Excavation & Base Prep

We dig out to the right depth (usually 8-12 inches below finished grade), install geotextile fabric if needed, and lay crushed limestone in lifts, compacting each one. This is the part most guys rush. We don't.

3. Surface Installation

We set the pavers, stone, or concrete on a screeded bedding layer. Everything gets leveled, cut to fit, and edge-restrained so it doesn't spread over time.

4. Finishing & Cleanup

Polymeric sand goes in the joints, the surface gets compacted one final time, and we clean up the site. We walk you through the finished patio and make sure you're happy before we leave.

Your Patio, Built by the Owner

Edgar Munoz giving thumbs up on a job site in Columbus OH

A lot of patio contractors in Columbus will send a sales guy to your house, then a completely different crew shows up to do the work. That's not how I operate.

I'm Edgar. I'm the one who gives you the estimate, and I'm the one on the job site making sure the base is right, the pitch is correct, and the finished patio looks the way it should. I've been building patios and outdoor spaces in Columbus for over six years, and I stand behind every one of them.

FAQ

Patio Installation Questions

How much does patio installation cost in Columbus OH?

A basic concrete patio in Columbus typically runs $8-$15 per square foot. Paver patios range from $15-$30+ per square foot depending on the material and pattern. A 300 square foot paver patio usually falls between $4,500 and $9,000 installed. Natural stone costs more. We give free estimates so you get an exact price for your project.

How long does it take to install a patio?

Most patios take 3-7 days from excavation to finished product. A small 200 square foot patio might be done in 3-4 days. Larger patios with seating walls, steps, or fire pits can take 1-2 weeks. Weather can push things out, but we'll keep you posted.

Pavers or concrete, which is better for Ohio?

Both work well in Ohio if installed correctly. Pavers handle freeze-thaw cycles better because they flex slightly instead of cracking. Concrete is cheaper upfront but can crack over time. If a paver settles or breaks, you can replace just that one piece. With concrete, a crack means a bigger repair. For most Columbus homeowners, pavers are the better long-term investment.

Do you offer free patio estimates?

Yes. We come out, look at the space, talk about what you want, and give you a written estimate with a real price. No charge, no obligation, no follow-up pressure. Call us at (614) 522-9214 or fill out our contact form.

Can you add a fire pit to my patio?

Absolutely. We build built-in fire pits using the same paver or stone material as the patio so it all matches. We can also add seating walls around the fire pit. It's one of the most popular add-ons we do.
